Job Description:
The Project Coordinator / Senior Research Analyst shall be responsible for carrying out background research, fact-checking and validation, and research coordination functions for a two year research project aimed to produce multiple publications and outputs.
The publication - Muslim-Science.Com - is focused on communicating science, technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship ideas to non-technical (layman) and policy audiences. It is, therefore, the candidate have an interest and deeper grasp (a fascination?) with how science and innovation shape our world.
The person's tasks shall include coordinating and compiling research outputs from range of international sources and scholars, organising and managing meetings and conferences, specialist events, and other activities.
Position is based in Islamabad.

The Candidate:
The ideal person shall be someone with a Bachelors or Masters degree in business and management, social sciences, science, or engineering and with an interest in science, technology, and society themes, science policy, science education, or philosophy of science
Someone with a four year Bachelors degree with 2-3 years of experience or a Masters degree with at least one year of relevant experience will be preferred.
Prior experience of working in a research / publishing outfit will be an asset but not compulsory. However, prior record of writing for non-technical audiences including self-publishing (such as blogs, etc.) will be be a must.
Excellent communications ability including both written and spoken English
Excellent project management and coordination skills are a must
Ability to work with quantitative data (including, finding, analysing, and presenting such data) as well as knowledge of GIS data tools will be additional asset.
A quick learner with the right attitude to contribute and learn from an exciting initiative.
Working as a part of a small team of professionals will require resourcefullness, teamwork, a can-do attitude, and flexibility to take on different roles. |
